Seagull Mediations was founded in 2026 by Frazer Hunt, a lawyer and AMDRAS Accredited Mediator. With 40 years’ experience as a commercial litigator specialising in insurance, transport and shipping claims resolution, Frazer has represented parties in countless commercial mediations. He is acknowledged as one of the few current mediators who truly understand insurers and the intricacies of insurance, making him a valuable resource in dispute resolution.

What to expect
Experience taught Frazer that the traditional, adversarial “shuttle diplomacy” model often failed to help parties grasp their risks, interests, and options and, as a result, mediation rarely ended well. The underlying problem was a lack of communication between the parties and their representatives. This left at least one party feeling unheard.
Disputes usually have an underlying current that many mediators don’t recognise, even in commercial disputes. Once those underlying issues are identified, acknowledged, and addressed, settlement typically follows.
